Yours truly also donated some of my books, fiction books, novels, magazines, textbooks, researches, and board games with high hopes that they can be beneficial to all the students. I am also thankful to Ms. Nica Mandigma and Ms. Margie Tan because they went to the school to cover my project for a website fund sourcing article at Gava.com. I was very elated to see Ms. Nica’s article and Ms. Margie’s photos of me on the website.

Two computers were also donated by Development Academy of the Philippines as solicited by Sir Paul. Sir Jerson Jolo, one of the new teachers in SHS in June 2017, also became instrumental in the book donations of his former student, Lynard Adrian L. Rivera. He was also able to solicit a set of volleyball (net plus ball). Our gratitude also to the General PTA last school year. The fund collected for the GPTA Project was used to have the wall between the classroom and the Learning Resource Center.

This is how the LRC looks like right now. Big thanks to the creativity of Ms. Racquel De Torres, our volunteer LRC staff. By the way, the flat-screen TV was fixed on my classroom because the Audio-Visual Room we had last school year is now used as a classroom.

“Only Seventeen”

How does it feel to be 17 in 2017?

I can still remember how it felt when I was 17. I was so clumsy yet determined, so teeny yet focused on my goal, so young yet full of dreams. During summer in 2003, when I was 17, I spent the summer finishing my OJT in my two-year course. I wanted to work at SJA as a canteen personnel came June so I needed to finish the OJT first. I was positive I would get the job/scholarship. And then in my heart, I knew I could. The heavens poured out this blessing and I was working, got my SSS, when I was 17.

Sometimes, I imagine how it feels to be 17, vacationing in some beach out there, with cliques and social media. Sometimes, I imagine myself being 17 again and enjoying the best time of my life as a teenager. Sometimes, I imagine to be 17 and young and vibrant.

Now, I can only feel I am 17 because the calendar tells another number.

Vision in a Cover

In March 2013, I had a principal with a strong vision for Canda National High School. Mr. Jessie V. Vasquez requested me to help put his vision in the yearbook cover. He had actually challenged me to be friends with Adobe Photoshop. That time, I was just starting to explore the program.

So it was a collaboration with the principal himself, Mark Glenn Beniten, a Fourth Year student who is a great artist, and Mr. Janlo Robil, my ever reliable friend (who is an Ateneo Professor). After the conceptualizationĀ and drawing and digital enhancement, the final product shown below was used as the cover of the yearbook.

PINAKAFINAL COVER

The original sketches by Glenn:

Janlo Robil put the colors. I only finalized it with photos and other digital enhancements.

I was so happy to see the yearbook with this cover! And of course, so blissful to see that a vision was put in a cover to be seen by all.

Paalam, Kapitan Torio!

Namatay si Kapitan Torio on the spot pagkatapos mabaril.

“Baasis said Luna was shot at close range and died while being taken to a hospital.”

Senakulo 2017: The Sariaya Way

A heartfelt superb performance of Senakulo (again, for the 11th time).

The audience were silently watching and praying as Jesus Christ was tortured and nailed on the cross. I was moved. I felt the pain, not because of the pain in my feet for standing for almost four hours, but because I could only do watch the sufferings of Jesus Christ to save the people. I felt the torture because what He has died for includes me.

Congratulations Jeff Panopio Jumarang for another excellent portrayal as Jesus Christ. I am deeply moved. You are not an actor. You are Jesus Christ.

Congratulations Sir Federico Ceribo and the whole cast and production. Nakakamiss ang teatro.

Thank you Sariaya Tourism Council for continuing this “panata” and making Sariayahins see and feel the passion of Christ.

Post-evaluation/Sharing of Experiences during the Community Programs

This morning, our dear GAS students shared their experiences in the preparation and implementation of their community program/immersion/outreach and all the thoughts, feelings and insights they learned throughout the whole process. It’s really wonderful to see how these kids fulfill something which only started as a concept paper but later on became a mission for other people. How these kids transformed little by little as responsible, compassionate and worthy individuals through this activity was a very beautiful process. No grade or remuneration in any form can equate this kind of experience!

It was really fulfilling as a teacher to become part of this and we really hope for the best to come to these kids! Congratulations GAS!

To a happy soul, a cool Science teacher, a KPOP/KDrama super fan, an arts enthusiast, and of course, our sweetest bunso, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I can still remember the day you were born in our small house and the moments you were growing up and giving us so much joy. You have always been our dolce, loving and joyful sister and of course, a good daughter to our parents.
